Note: If you use one of OpenSesame’s integrations, thumbnail images and select metadata are automatically included with your courses.
You can download thumbnail images and other metadata for your OpenSesame courses at any time.
In this guide:
- Select a List
- Download a CSV file from the List
- Find the image links
- Open a link and save the image
- Optional: Ask your IT team about bulk downloads
1. Select a List
Log in to your OpenSesame account and select My Lists.
To open a List, select its title.
If you don't have any Lists, you can browse premade Lists from OpenSesame curators. Go to the OpenSesame catalog and set the Product Type filter to Lists.
For an introduction to Lists, see How to use OpenSesame Lists.
2. Download a CSV file from the List
Open your List, then the Options menu.
Select Download as CSV. This downloads a spreadsheet of course metadata to your device.
3. Find the image links
Locate the CSV file on your device and open it with any spreadsheet application, such as Excel or Google Sheets.
The Thumbnail Image URL column has links to each course thumbnail image.
Note: The WWW URL column links to OpenSesame catalog pages, not thumbnail images.
4. Open a link and save the image
Select any link in the Thumbnail Image URL column to open the image in a new browser window. You can also copy and paste the link into your browser address bar.
Right-click the image and choose Save Image As, then choose a location on your computer. Repeat for each thumbnail as needed.
5. Optional: Ask your IT team about bulk downloads
If you need many thumbnail images, check with your IT team. They may be able to use the URLs from your CSV file to download the images in bulk.
