Note: The below describes our limited-access content delivery platform for early adopters. If you are not an early adopter, please see the section on CourseCloud Legacy.
To suspend or unsuspend users in bulk, see this article.
As users join, change, or leave teams in your organization, you might decide to suspend their CourseCloud accounts.
Please note that it is not possible to completely delete users, as that would erase all historical activity and completion data associated with their accounts.
In this article:
Suspend an individual user
To suspend an individual user, which will prevent them from logging in to or receiving any further messages from CourseCloud, the first step is to locate them. While logged in to your Learning Administrator account, select Admin Tools at left and then the Users tab:
Note: If a user has already occupied an OpenSesame seat license by launching an OpenSesame course, suspending them in CourseCloud will not reclaim that seat. They will continue to occupy it until the end of the license’s term.
Click Edit users:
Use the filtering and sorting tools as needed. When the target user appears in the table of results, click their User controls button at right and select Suspend from the menu that appears:
A confirmation prompt will appear. If the description of the change looks good, click Continue:
You will return to the Edit Profile page and a success message will appear:
Note that suspended users are hidden by default from search results and reporting. (They will continue to appear in User Bulk Download files.) If you want to see them in your searches, expand the User search fields section, enable the Show suspended users toggle, and then click the Filter results button:
When you opt to include these users in your searches, an (S) will appear by their name and they will have the Suspended status:
Unsuspend an individual user
To unsuspend an individual user, which will restore their ability to log in to and receive messages from CourseCloud, first locate them by returning to the Edit Users tool (Admin Tools > Users tab > Edit Users):
Again, suspended users are hidden by default from search results. To see them, expand the User search fields section, enable the Show suspended users toggle, and then click the Filter results button:
Suspended users will have an (S) by their name and the Suspended status. Once you’ve found your target user in the table of results, click their User controls button and select Unsuspend:
A confirmation prompt will appear. If the description of the change looks good, click Continue:
You will return to the Edit Profile page and a success message will appear:
The user has now been reinstated, and you can either resend their account details or they can visit the CourseCloud login page to reset their own password.
