Note: This article discusses files or URLs that were previously uploaded to courses in CourseCloud, which is our limited-access content delivery platform for early adopters. (If you are not an early adopter, please see the section on CourseCloud Legacy.)
If all your courses are synced from OpenSesame and are not enhanced by uploads in CourseCloud, this information does not apply. In that case, the OpenSesame Plus completion requirements article may help.
The completion requirements for activities manually uploaded to CourseCloud depend on the upload type.
- Media files (MP3, MP4, PDF, PowerPoint) or URLs: Learners simply need to click on the file or URL link to open it. At that point, the activity will be marked complete.
- SCORM or AICC packages: Requirements depend on how the content was created before it was uploaded to CourseCloud. CourseCloud will accept the Lesson Status supplied by the course and will not impose additional requirements.
Example:
A learning administrator uses an elearning authoring tool to create a course with a mandatory quiz. Within that tool, they set the quiz’s passing score to 70%. They then save the course as a SCORM or AICC package, upload the package to a CourseCloud framework, and use CourseCloud to assign the course to learners.
Learners who launch that course in CourseCloud will not be marked complete until they pass the quiz. Once they pass it, the course’s internal Lesson Status will update to “Completed,” and that status will then be reflected in CourseCloud.
If the administrator decides to change the passing score or add more requirements, they will need to return to their authoring tool, create a new version of the course with those updates, and then replace the SCORM or AICC package in CourseCloud with a new one.
