To update your account details, which can be seen by fellow Learning Admins in your organization, click the menu at top right and select Profile:
You will land on the Edit Profile page:
Here you can update the following account details. More information on each appears below:
You’ll also notice an Update profile button floating along the bottom of the screen. If you make any changes, click it to save them:
Updating your email address
The top entry displays your current email address. As a Learning Admin, you can click into this field to change it:
Note: Learners cannot edit their own email address.
CourseCloud uses email addresses to identify unique users, so this field is required and there is a verification step for any updates to it.
If you’ve already launched OpenSesame courses in CourseCloud, or have courses currently in progress, please be aware that by changing your email address you would be seen as a brand-new learner to OpenSesame. As such you would occupy a new OpenSesame seat license with your next launch, and you would be unable to retain any progress tied to your previous email address.
Once you edit your address and click Update profile, a message will appear stating that a confirmation link has been sent to the new address:
Click the Continue button to return to the Edit Profile page. Here you’ll see that the address change is pending, and a reminder to open the emailed link will appear alongside the pending new address:
If you change your mind, click the Cancel email change link. Otherwise, check your new email address’s inbox for an automated message from firstname.lastname@example.org, which will look like the example below. Follow its unique link to confirm your new address:
You will then return to CourseCloud and see a success message:
Adding or updating your profile picture
Below the email address field is an area for your profile picture. If you haven’t yet added one, the Current picture field will say “none” and a placeholder image will appear by your account name:
To add an image, click the file icon or the outlined gray box to open a selection menu, or drag and drop a JPG or PNG file into the gray box:
Note: While GIF files can be uploaded, they will not be animated.
The image will be automatically cropped and resized to 100x100 pixels. Save the change, and your profile image will update:
A Delete picture option will now appear below the Current picture field. You can select it and save to completely clear your profile image:
Or you can simply upload a new image and click Update profile:
Since only one profile image can be saved at a time, adding a new file will automatically replace and remove the earlier one.
Updating your name
The only requirement for the First name and Last name fields is that they cannot be blank. Click into those fields to change them, and click Update profile to save your changes:
Updating your role
There are two Role types available: Learner and Learning Admin. If you will be taking courses as well as managing them, note that you do not need to switch to the learner role:
Updating your region and time zone
The next section allows you to set your city, country, and time zone. It is not necessary to set a location, however, and the time zone will otherwise default to Pacific Time:
