Note: CourseCloud is our limited-access content delivery platform. If you send course invitations from OpenSesame instead, see our documentation on CourseCloud Legacy.
For general OpenSesame requirements, see the OpenSesame Minimum System Requirements.
If you or your team members will be accessing CourseCloud from restrictive or high-security IT environments—such as those found in banking, healthcare, or government settings—it might be necessary to allow content delivery from our dedicated servers.
If you’re unsure whether allowing CourseCloud domains is needed, we recommend proceeding with testing CourseCloud to verify that your network is already configured to allow it. If certain features do not work, your IT team may need to assist.
If you know that your IT environment has security restrictions, see the following breakdown of content delivery addresses.
Note: These addresses represent servers whose primary function is to deliver content upon receiving specific requests from CourseCloud. They may not display a viewable website when accessed directly by a browser.
Wildcard domains
If your IT team is comfortable with allowing “ * ” wildcard characters, most of the following subdomains can be covered by two entries:
https://*.opensesame.com
https://*.coursecloud.net
Subdomains for CourseCloud
If allowing a wildcard character is not an option on your network, please ask your IT team to allow the following subdomains for everyone who will be accessing CourseCloud:
https://auth.coursecloud.net
https://coursecloud.opensesame.com
https://media.opensesame.com
https://player.opensesame.com
https://www.opensesame.com
Additional subdomains for OpenSesame courses
The earlier addresses cover the firewall requirements for CourseCloud itself. Depending on which OpenSesame courses you deliver to learners with CourseCloud, your IT team may need to allow additional, publisher-specific addresses for course content to play as expected.
For more information, please see Firewall domains for OpenSesame Plus.
