Set up course delivery
In this phase, configure your learning platform to support the delivery method you chose in Phase One. For integration eligibility, check with your OpenSesame sales representative.
Configure your learning platform
- If you will use a stand-alone learning platform, consult your platform’s documentation or support team to confirm which file format the platform needs and the upload process. You can download either AICC or SCORM files from OpenSesame, and it’s important to not switch between the two.
- If you will use one of OpenSesame’s integrations, it’s time to set it up. Contact your OpenSesame sales representative to request implementation services.
Review your OpenSesame delivery steps
Get familiar with the steps you’ll follow in Phase Three, when you deliver courses.
If you have Learning & Development teammates in your organization who should also be allowed to deliver courses from OpenSesame, use the Team dashboard to add them to your account, then share these steps.
- For a stand-alone learning platform, you’ll select the Download Packages option and the file format you need. For more information, see How to download courses from a List.
- For an integrated learning platform, you’ll select the Send to Integration option and your learning platform’s name. For more information, see How to send courses from a List.
For future deliveries, you can also set a delivery method as the default.
Ensure courses run well
Testing is essential to confirm that OpenSesame courses work correctly in your unique IT environment.
It should be done before distributing courses to learners, and is particularly important for high-security organizations—such as those in banking, healthcare, or government.
- Check with IT. If your IT team hasn’t confirmed that the system requirements (and any firewall requirements) from Phase One are met, follow up with them.
- Use best practices. Follow our comprehensive testing guide, which provides a checklist, clear stages, a testing tracker, and instructions for getting test course packages.
- Test.
- Conclude. Address any uncovered issues. If there were none, remove the test packages from your platform. (Expired packages launch to an error.)

Finish curating your first courses, which you'll add to your learning platform in the next phase.
Phase two checklist
❏ Either confirm your learning platform’s upload requirements, or, if an integration is available and your account is eligible, request help to set that up.
❏ Review the steps for your delivery method.
❏ Confirm requirements are met.
❏ Test, following our testing guide. Address any issues, then remove the test packages.
❏ Finalize course selections for launch.
