Add courses to your platform
Deliver courses to your learning platform. As mentioned in Phase Two, the type of platform determines the steps.
- For a stand-alone platform, see How to download course packages from a List.
- For an integrated platform, see How to send courses to a learning platform using a List.
After delivery, there may be additional steps before the courses will be available to learners. Each platform has its own process. For more information, see your platform’s documentation.
Tell learners
Consider using a communication strategy to promote your training program and encourage participation.
Adapt the following suggestions to your organization’s size, communication norms, and setting—whether in-person, remote, or a combination.
-
Outline your approach. For a new initiative, successful organizations often:
- Announce it ahead of time.
- Share a reminder before launch.
- Send an update and learner instructions upon launch.
- Set a regular cadence for follow-up or ongoing communications.
-
Use a toolkit. Customize our Launch and Engage toolkit (31.8 MB zip file download) or create your own, then use it to inform and motivate your audience.
- Edit the unbranded templates for emails, posters, and table tents, and choose the images that’ll resonate with your learners.
- A PDF reader, such as Adobe’s free Acrobat Reader, may be needed to view the PDF files.
Some organizations prefer to “soft launch” to a small audience and get feedback before a full launch. And if you add OpenSesame content to an existing program, an early announcement or reminder may be unnecessary.
