Delete a Department in CourseCloud

Note: The below describes our limited-access content delivery platform for early adopters. If you are not an early adopter, please see the section on CourseCloud Legacy.

The following steps will adjust your organization’s hierarchy in CourseCloud and will not impact users. In addition, a Department can only be deleted when it is empty. If it contains any sub-departments, those must also be empty.

Here is a brief video of the steps below:

To delete an empty Department, which will also delete its sub-departments, return to the Manage Departments area (Admin Tools > Company tab > Manage Departments). Select your target Department and click the Delete department button:

A confirmation prompt will appear. Again, keep in mind that deleting a Department will delete all of its sub-departments.

If the description of the change looks good, click Continue:

Now if you expand the hierarchy view again, that department will be gone.
