OpenSesame’s AI-powered Curation Assistant helps you find relevant courses and create Lists. It works best when you need courses for specific topics or audiences.
In this guide:
- Find the assistant
- Start a conversation
- View course details
- Refine the results
- Save the results
- Tips
Find the assistant
Log in to OpenSesame. Select Catalog from the navigation.
A Curate with AI button appears.
The button also appears on the My Lists page.
Select the button to open the assistant.
Start a conversation
When the assistant opens, a text field appears.
Note: To close the assistant and return to the catalog, select Catalog or use the browser Back button.
In the text field, describe the training you need.
Include:
- Topics, skills, learning outcomes, or keywords
- Preferred languages
- Preferred course duration
Press Enter or select the Submit arrow.
If the assistant needs more information, it asks follow-up questions.
Tip: The assistant can recommend courses, but it cannot create structured collections with a required sequence.
When the assistant has enough information, it recommends up to five courses per topic. If there are multiple topics, each topic has its own group.
Recommendations are based on course details such as:
- Categories, competencies, and skills
- Course style and features
- Course title, description, and publisher
- Languages
View course details
The Curation Assistant provides basic course information:
- Title
- Duration
- Publisher
- Number of languages
- Summary description
For more information about a course, select its title or thumbnail image.
The course page opens in a new browser tab. It has a full course description, learning objectives, features, ratings (when available), and information about the publisher.
To preview the course in this tab, select the cover image.
Refine the results
To continue, return to the Curation Assistant tab.
- If you’re satisfied with the recommendations, skip to Save the results.
- To refine the results, describe what to change or give the assistant more information.
For more courses on the same topic, ask the assistant to add to the recommendations. You can also tell the assistant to make these changes to a specific group.
Save the results
To save the results, select Add results to List or tell the assistant to create a List.
The available languages for the course appear. Deselect any languages you don't need, then select Select a List.
The Create a new List option is automatically selected. The assistant also suggests a title and description. To add to an existing List instead, select the Add to existing List option and select from your existing Lists.
Select Add to List.
The request processes, and the List appears. To edit the List's title or description, select them.
- If you curated multiple topics, each topic has its own group.
- If you added to an existing List with groups, courses from topics that exactly match an existing group name are added to that group. All other topics are added as new groups.
From the List, you can:
When you are ready to deliver, send courses to an integrated learning platform or download course files to upload to a learning platform.
Tips
- Results depend on catalog availability. If the catalog has limited courses for a topic, the assistant tells you.
- For more relevant results, include audience details, such as role or experience level.
- The assistant cannot create structured collections with a required sequence, and it does not remember previous conversations.
