How to use Curated Lists

Curated Lists are created by the content experts who manage, maintain, and update the OpenSesame course catalog.

These premade Lists cover popular learning paths, trending topics, and frequently requested competencies, offering a clear route forward for high-demand subjects. They are maintained alongside the evolving catalog.

In this guide:

View all Curated Lists

Visit www.opensesame.com and click My Account:

Next, click Catalog:

Note: To take an action on a Curated List beyond viewing it, you must be logged in.

The default view begins with a few Curated Lists:

To view them all, change the Product Type filter to “Lists”:

The results will update to Curated Lists. A Plus banner indicates that each course in a List is included in the OpenSesame Plus subscription catalog.

To open a Curated List, click on it. The List's description will appear, followed by the curator who created it, the number of courses, the total seat time, and then the courses:

Follow a Curated List

When you view a Curated List, you can add it to My Lists by clicking the Follow button. (If you're not logged in, you'll be asked to log in.)

When you follow a Curated List, the version found in My Lists will remain up-to-date:

Note: The globe icon that follows a Curated List's title indicates the List is public. The magnifying-glass icon indicates the List can be found by searching the OpenSesame catalog.

If you duplicate a Curated List, rather than follow it, your personal copy will not receive updates.

Duplicate a Curated List

To customize a Curated List, make a copy by opening its menu and selecting Duplicate:

You can immediately change the title or description, if you want. By default, the new title will begin with "Copy of".

When ready to proceed, click Duplicate List:

The copy will appear in My Lists, with you as the List's creator. You can then add, remove, or reorganize courses in this personal copy:

Personal copies are private and do not receive updates from our curation team. And unlike Curated Lists, which are public, if you share a personal copy, recipients must log in to view it.

Find your Lists

To view your Lists, select My Lists from the navigation bar:

The All tab collects every List created by, shared with, shared from, or followed by your account.

  • If you follow a Curated List, it will appear under the All and the Following tabs. 
  • If you duplicate a Curated List, it will appear under the All and the Created tabs.
