Adding narrations to your Simon course helps you create courses that are more engaging and accessible by adding another layer of audio content to your course. You can upload your own audio file or Simon can convert written text into spoken audio, so learners can listen to the content in their native spoken language.

Adding narrations
Find a text slide in your course that you want to add a narration to. Click the "Add narration" button below the text field.
A drawer will pop up on the right side of the course editor. To generate a new narration, select the "Script" option. Alternatively, if you already have an audio file, you can upload the existing audio file instead.
Type or copy text into the "script" field. Select your preferred voice from the available options then click the "Narrate" button to generate the audio narration for this slide. Simon will transform your narration script into an audio file. This can take up to several minutes depending on the length of the script.
Auto-advancing slides with narrations
You can choose whether you want to have the slides with narration automatically advance to the next slide when the narration has completed for the entire course or for a specific slide.
For the entire course
When creating a new course or editing the details of an existing course, the option to enable or disable automatically advancing slides with narrations is available in the "Course Style" section. The option is "ENABLED" by default when creating new courses.
For a single text slide
When a narration has been added to a slide, the option to automatically advance to the next slide will become available in the "Options" menu. It will reflect the option you selected in the "Course Style" section of the course details, however, you can change the behavior for a single slide by toggling the switch on or off.
