QuickStart Video
Watch this 5 minute video to walk you through the steps to create a Simon course.
Steps to create a course
Note: To create a new course, you will be required to have at least:
- A course title
- A course description
- A logo
- A background image for your course loading page
1. Add a new course
Start by going to the Course Manager tab.
Click Add in the upper-right hand corner. Select Create course.
2. Input your course information
Fill in the Course Details with your course title, description, and optional subtitle.
The next section allows you to add up to 6 learning objectives. It is optional but highly recommended to include learning objectives.
After the learning objectives, you have the option to upload resources to the course. This is only necessary for resources that will not be added to a slide in the course.
In the Course Style section, you must add a logo and background image by adding images from your existing assets or by uploading a file.
You can select a dark or light appearance and can optionally add background music to which will play when viewing text-based content. Music will not play during videos or quiz content.
3. Build your course
Click Start building to complete setting up your course and open the Course Editor with placeholder content for the first section to help get you started. Note: If you click Back from the course details page, your course will not be created.
You can now start adding content to your course by editing the placeholder section and text slide to get started.
Note: For information on the Course Editor and content type options, check out the “Course Editor” section of articles.
You can save your progress and come back to editing your course by opening the course action menu (3 vertical dots) and selecting Edit. To view the article about editing your course, click here.
