June 2019 new and notable courses:
Here are a few of the new courses added to OpenSesame this month that we recommend you check out:
Compliments Series
The new Compliments series by eJ4 is a two course series that talks about how to deliver an effective compliment and how do you receive one. It also addresses what to do if someone uses a compliment as a backhanded remark.
Speak out Against Offensive Workplace Behavior
In this newly updated course by Enspark learners will better understand how to speak out against offensive workplace behavior. Typically, organizations spend more time training employees on how not to act in the workplace, but very little time training on how to respond to to such behavior. Even if you have established HR protocols for reporting workplace behavior, I highly recommend you check out this course as it provides some great tips that can be used in addition to corporate policies already in place.
[Live Discussion] Safety in the workplace: Publisher spotlight
Safety is one of the most popular category of courses OpenSesame offers. Because safety content is frequently updated and OpenSesame has added some great new publishers and courses recently in this area, we brought Amanda Sessions from our curation team to highlight these publishers and course areas:
Vivid Learning Systems:
Vivid is leading provider of workplace safety training specializing in OSHA topics such as hazard exposure and communication, personal protective equipment, electrical safety, and more. Vivid uses animations and situational examples throughout a variety of industry settings to keep their courses relevant and user-friendly. These courses average around 20 minutes per course and while they can be used globally, their focus is on North America safety standards and languages (English and Spanish).

UL EHS Sustainability:
UL EHS Sustainability has over 1300+ courses that are designed to meet the needs of global organizations in the areas of workplace safety, manufacturing and construction, health and safety management, but also more specifically in US regulations for OSHA and NFPA. They offer a selection of their courses localized in up to 19 languages.

ThinkBiscuit:
ThinkBiscuit is a new publisher to OpenSesame and offers unique courses around food safety, as well as general safety courses. They use in-course pre-assessments to help tailor the courses to your learners Check out their current courses here and keep your eye out for new courses coming soon.
Other notable safety courses and resources:
We also shared the new WILL Interactive Active Threat Response course. This course utilizes a simplified, efficient response decision tree to teach real lessons learned from tragedy. It provides learners with practical before, during, and after event skills and techniques that provide them with best practices derived from the leading active threat response authorities.
Finally training on fire extinguishers in the workplace is an easy win. You can stay compliant with OSHA regulations with many of the fire safety courses from OpenSesame. If you need a place to start, we recommend OSHA - Portable Fire Extinguisher Safety by Vivid or if you need the training in multiple languages, UL EHS Sustainability offers a fire extinguisher course in over 10 languages
