May 2019 new and notable courses:
With National Safety Month right around the corner, we highlighted four areas of safety training that are important for every organization to consider as a part of their learning program:
Eye Strain
Reducing Eyestrain by eJ4 is a good course to share with those who work in front of a computer or laptop for most of the day. Often eye strain or injury is only covered as a training topic for those working in non-office environments, but protecting your eyes in the office is critical as well.
CPR and Choking Hazards
Do you know who in your office is certified to perform CPR? Who can help if someone is choking at your company? Making sure that you have individuals who can help at all of your locations and during all of the shifts your team might work is one way to create a safer work environment. Check out First Aid: Choking by ej4 and OSHA - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by Vivid Learning Systems.
Fire Extinguisher Safety
We are seeing a growing number of organizations including fire extinguisher training as a part of their onboarding programs. If you need a place to start, we recommend OSHA - Portable Fire Extinguisher Safety by Vivid or if you need the training in multiple languages, UL EHS Sustainability offers a fire extinguisher course in over 10 languages
Driving Safety
Consider providing driver safety training to everyone in your organization, even if they don’t drive a company vehicle. Keeping your employees safe as they come to and from work should be something every organization invests in. To get started, check out the Mobile Phones and Driving course by Litmos Heros or the Safe Driving series by ej4.
We also shared some of the latest additions to the OpenSesame Plus library including:
Anti-Bribery & Corruption: The Bribery Act from Video Arts, General Data Protection Regulation Essentials by Engage in Learning, Hands-on Game AI Development by Packt and Making Meetings Matter by Litmos Heros.
