Please refer to this documentation while testing your free content. Once you've decided which courses to assign to your learners, we recommend that you test one course from each of the publishers you plan to use. This will help ensure that all courses behave as expected in learner environments. It is crucial to test with all variables that your learners may encounter, such as mobile devices or remote access.

Testing process: Accessing full courses
Testing environment
Since CourseCloud Legacy allows learners to take courses directly on OpenSesame, there is no need to double-check how things might behave in a Learning Management System. The remaining factors are already covered in our minimum system requirements: devices, software (including versions and settings), connection speeds, and network settings.
Pre-testing
- Verify that the minimum system requirements are met by your environment (outlined in Step Three)
- If your learners will be using a company network, verify that IT has allowed any necessary domains on your network
If you’re unsure whether adding specific domains to your network is needed, we recommend beginning the testing process to verify that your network is already configured to play our content.
Testing process: Accessing full courses
To properly test, you'll want to be able to view entire courses and not just the limited-time preview seen in Step Two.
Once you've identified which courses you'll be assigning to learners, go to the Curated List you want to start with. Here's an example:
Select however many courses you want to test. (Again, for each publisher you plan to use, one course apiece is enough.) As soon as any course is selected, you'll see a "Deliver Courses" button appear:
Click it to reveal delivery options. Choose "Use OpenSesame CourseCloud"
which will bring you to this screen. Now enter one email address—it can be the one used when creating your account—and click "Add Learners":
Note: When inviting learners in bulk in Step Five, be sure to separate multiple email addresses with commas. Commas are required, spaces are optional.
Next, click "Send Invitations." This will occupy a seat. And if you aren't using your own email address, keep in mind that this will automatically send the recipient an email:
You'll see a confirmation message at top right:
Now the selected courses will appear in your main dashboard. Go there by clicking your name at top right and selecting "Dashboard":
Here we see that one seat has been occupied, and the "OpenSesame Plus" tab underneath shows all the courses selected for the invitation. If we invite someone else to different courses later, another seat will be used, and their courses will be added to this tab.
Now that we have these courses where we want them, click your current Delivery Preference and change it from CourseCloud to "On OpenSesame":
This toggles you out of the administrative mode and into a learner mode. A green confirmation message appears, and the "Manage" buttons at right have become "Begin Course" buttons:
Those buttons will now allow you to launch each course and view it in its entirety!
Note: CourseCloud Legacy assigns one seat per email address. If your invitation was not sent to the email on file for your OpenSesame account, the first launch from here will still use your account's address to occupy a seat.
Testing process: Procedure
Now that you have full access to your test courses, please launch each of them and check for the following criteria:
- Test one course from each publisher
- Test that each course launches within the learner environment
- Test that video content plays and that all interactive content loads
- Test that any resources linked in the course open successfully and/or download
- Complete at least one course and confirm that the completion is recorded
Also test in the following environments, if applicable:
- Any mobile applications that will be used
- VPN
- Any other unique IT environment, browser, or domain
Post-testing
- Toggle your account back to administrative mode by changing your Delivery Preference back to "CourseCloud."
Once the testing process is complete, the next step is to launch your OpenSesame content to learners.
