Note: Step Three will discuss the testing stage. We recommend testing courses in the LMS environment that is most convenient for you.
If you have a pre-production, demo, QA, staging, or sandbox environment, the courses can be synced and tested there. If you simply have a production LMS environment, the courses can be synced and tested there.
If you have a Learning Management System that is not integrated with OpenSesame, please refer to this article for details on downloading course packages.
Set up your integration
Please work with your LMS contacts to identify where you can find the OpenSesame content marketplace in your LMS. Every LMS will have a different process to enable and access the OpenSesame embedded catalog.
Once your OpenSesame integration is set up, log in to your LMS and locate our embedded catalog from within it. If you have not already opted in for the free licenses from there, do so now.
Locate the Curated Lists
Once opted in, you'll find yourself returned to your embedded catalog's home page. Here’s an example of how that can look:
Scroll down and select any of the featured Curated Lists for a closer look:
Select courses to send to LMS
Once you’ve determined the courses you’d like to send to your LMS, select the box immediately left of the course. If you’d like to select all courses, simply select the top box.
Once you’ve selected your courses, the Send to LMS button will appear. Click “Send to LMS” when you’re ready to queue up your content.
Once the courses have been processed, click the "Dashboard" button in the green notification bar:
Send courses to your LMS
From the main OpenSesame dashboard, click on the “Send to LMS” tab, where you will see your selected courses queued. If you are ready to send courses to the LMS, simply click the orange “Send to LMS” button.
Note: You can sync many courses over at once.
Course send processing
While the system is bringing the content into the LMS, it may take some time. It’s important to let the system finish the process on its own.
If using SAP SuccessFactors
If your LMS is SuccessFactors, and you have already configured its Open Content Network (OCN) with OpenSesame, keep in mind that you will need to run the Automatic Process Manager (APM) before you will see your courses appear for import on the SuccessFactors side.
Note: If you use SuccessFactors and have not already configured its OCN with OpenSesame, please follow the steps to download course packages in this section.
Please work with your LMS contacts to identify whether any additional settings are required to support the OpenSesame integration.
COMPLETE! Once your sync is complete, your courses will be loaded and ready to assign to learners or organize into activity structures.
For further details on managing your course content once it’s imported into your LMS, refer to your LMS documentation or reach out to your LMS contacts for further assistance.
Organize courses in your LMS
We recommend creating a separate library, learning path, playlist, curricula, etc., for these courses. (The types and names of content-organization tools vary from LMS to LMS.) This will make them easy to find, assign, and eventually remove after the free trial period ends on 15 June 2020.
Once the courses are in your LMS, the next step is to confirm that minimum system requirements are met.
