Note: If you use one of OpenSesame’s integrations, image thumbnails and select metadata are automatically included with your courses.
You can download metadata and course image thumbnails for your OpenSesame courses at any time.
1. Create a List of your courses.
If you don’t already have your courses in an OpenSesame List, create one. For instructions, see How to use OpenSesame Lists.
2. Download a CSV file from the List.
Open your List, then open its menu and select Download as CSV. This downloads a spreadsheet of course metadata to your device.
3. Open the CSV file.
Locate the CSV file and open it with any spreadsheet application, such as Excel or Google Sheets.
4. Find the Thumbnail image URL column.
The CSV file contains metadata for the courses in your List.
The Thumbnail Image URL column contains links to each course’s thumbnail.
Note: The WWW URL column links to OpenSesame catalog pages, not thumbnail images.
5. Open an image link.
Click any Thumbnail Image URL link to open the image in a new browser window. You can also copy and paste the link into your browser’s address bar.
6. Save the image.
Right-click the image and choose Save Image As, then choose a location on your computer. Repeat for each thumbnail as needed.
7. (Optional) Ask your IT team about bulk downloading images.
If you need many thumbnail images, check with your IT team. They may be able to use the URLs from your CSV file to download all the images in bulk.
