If a course is not loading as expected and the problem is rooted in the browser cache, clearing the cache should resolve it.
For background, a web browser will remember parts of a web page—such as text or images—to save time when visiting that page later. This information is stored in the browser's cache.
Outdated information saved in a cache can sometimes interfere with course assets loading completely, correctly, or updating. Clearing out the cache forces the browser to load everything fresh from the original sources, rather than depending on older information.
Please note that cache clearing will sign you out of most sites.
Chrome (Referenced version: 111.0)
- At the top right of your browser window, click the
icon
- Select More tools and then Clear browsing data...
- In the box that appears, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time
- Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
- Click the Clear data button
- Try relaunching the course
Edge (Referenced version: 111.0)
- At the top right of your browser window, click the
icon and then Settings
- In the lefthand column, select Privacy, search, and services
- Under Clear browsing data, find "Clear browsing data now" and click the Choose what to clear button
- In the box that appears, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time
- Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
- Click the Clear now button
- Try relaunching the course
Firefox (Referenced version: 111.0)
- At the top right of your browser window, click the
icon and then Settings
- In the lefthand column, select Privacy & Security
- In the Cookies and Site Data section, click the Clear Data... button
- Confirm that both checkboxes are selected, then click the Clear button
- Try relaunching the course
Safari (Referenced version: 16.0) - A Mac-only browser
- In the top left of your screen, click Safari and select Preferences
- Click the Privacy icon in the top row
- Click the Manage Website Data button and wait for the stored information to load
- Once that's loaded, click the Remove All button at bottom left
- In the "Are you sure?" box that appears, click the Remove Now button
- Try relaunching the course
