To reset your OpenSesame password, first confirm you are logged out. To check, visit https://www.opensesame.com/dashboard.
- If you reach a sign-in page, continue to the next step.
- If you reach a dashboard, open the account menu and select Log Out. When logged out, select the Log In option to reach the sign-in page.
On the sign-in page, select the Forgot password? link.
Note: If you created your OpenSesame account using Google, select Sign in with Google. You won’t need an OpenSesame password.
Enter your email address and select Reset Password.
Next, select Send me an email.
If there's an OpenSesame account for that email address, you’ll receive an email with a link to click.
Check your inbox. The email comes from info@idp.opensesame.com with the subject “OpenSesame account password reset.”
Note: If the email doesn’t arrive within five minutes, check your spam folder. If it's not there either, confirm with your IT team that emails from info@idp.opensesame.com are allowed.
Use the Reset Password button. The link expires in 30 minutes.
A new tab opens. Enter a new password.
It needs:
- At least 8 characters (and no more than 128)
- Uppercase and lowercase letters
- At least 1 number
- To be different from your last 4 passwords
For greater security, use a long password that includes symbols.
Re-enter the new password to confirm it, then select Create Password.
This signs you in and goes to the OpenSesame catalog. Your new password is now active.
